New York and Kentucky Land Company, 1890-1896
Scope and Contents
This series consists of records of companies other than the AVSBILC and its predecessors. The records mainly document the New York and Kentucky Land Company, which later became the Kentucky Mineral and Timber Company. There are also records for the Kentucky River Land and Timber Company, which was also called the Kentucky River Timber and Coal Company, as well as the Oregon Mortgage Company of Spokane (Washington). These companies were Equitable investments, some via the Turner loan, thus their association with the AVSBILC records. Materials are mostly legal documents and correspondence, typically discussing land sales or investments. The Oregon files focus on farm loans and also contain some information related to Grand Coulee Dam. Files remain arranged as found.
