Amity Company letters, 1897-1898

 File — Box: 12, Folder: 13-18
Identifier: Series 2

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

The AVSBILC was formed from the Amity Land Company and the Great Plains Water Company (both incorporated 1898). These two companies were preceded by the Amity Land and Irrigation Company (incorporated 1893) and the Great Plains Water Storage Company (incorporated 1896). Records here document these predecessor companies, primarily through letters and some financial documents. Letters chiefly concern legal and financial matters, including the Turner loan, along with land and water issues. Some also concern Salvation Army land. While the stock certificate books chiefly contain blank certificates, they do give indication of early investors. Files remain arranged as found.
